I. List of Social media producer duties:

           1.       Continuously monitor the flow of content from markets and proactively highlight the strongest content in appropriate content areas, writing accurate, clean and engaging tease to the content.
           2.       Coordinate with the Advance Digital night/weekend desk to plan updates to home page elements and other needs as assigned during off hours.
           3.       Learn and leverage best practices for social media to boost referrals from social media channels to Mive.com. In collaboration with Statewide Community Engagement Specialist, champion those best practices within the local markets and provide training as needed on a continuing basis.
           4.       Proactively monitor social media trends and translate data into action. Collaborate closely with the Content Data Analyst, Performance Data Analyst and Developmental Specialist to track content trends related to social media and develop benchmarks for success in the local markets.
           5.       Identify websites relevant to content produced on MLive.com and market it as appropriate to help it reach maximum audience. Work with local markets and content producers to identify niche sites relevant to their topic areas and help them maximize their audience by sharing content on those sites effectively.

II. List of Social media producer qualifications
       1.       Bachelor’s degree in Journalism or Communications or related field required
       2.       Minimum of one - two years of journalism experience with a proven ability in reporting and writing required
       3.       Proven experience building, maintaining and engaging an active audience
       4.       Ability to work independently under deadline pressure and prioritize tasks
       5.       Demonstrated writing and organizational skills
       6.       Solid understanding of the news industry and local markets
       7.       Mastery of social media platforms and optimization practices and familiarity with current social media tools
       8.       Proven experience with basic HTML or equivalent web language
       9.       Familiarity with search engine optimization practices a plus
